The Ugly Truth

Like all women we secretly like to try and understand men. Once again this has proved to be vair vair difficult. In recent months we have been picking the brains of various men to find out the truth about what they don’t like about women’s fashion and beauty choices. Amongst the obvious i.e. too much foundation and fake hair, there has been a few shockers that we never saw coming. At this stage we have done limited research but with the results so far this is definitely something we want to take further. This blog is the first in a series exploring this in more depth, The Ugly Truth aims to shine some light on the confusions of male and female attraction.  

Obviously with this subject make-up has been in continuous discussion but the specifics have been quite amusing. Ranking top of the make-up turn off list has been ‘foundation face’- men do not like our make-up on their clothes or even worse their faces; coloured eye shadow reminds them of pantomime dames and black eyeliner flicks a la Amy Winehouse in their opinion are quite frankly scary .

We asked the male subjects what their preferred style of women’s intimate hair removal choices were. Due to the popularity of Hollywood waxes we assumed that men were all up for all off, turns out this could not be further from the truth. The men that we asked hate Hollywood’s and instead opted for the ‘Runway’. Yep, the majority knew the current hair removal trends and terminology and were way more clued up and opinionated than we had first imagined.

Other fashion and beauty choices the males hated on were fake tan; lip gloss; any product that glitters; exposed thongs; Ugg boots; heels if you can’t walk in them or at least at a reasonable pace; mismatched underwear and what they described as ‘talons’ –  ridiculously long nails…real or fake!

Now this is where we need you to get involved and help us banish these types of common misunderstandings. Don’t hold back, just say it how it is, we have scared off a good few dates and probed our male friends and family to the limits in our quest for more knowledge on this .Whether male or female we need your opinions and experiences to expose The Ugly Truth.
